Kapil Sibal Calls for Government-Public Partnership in Environment Related Issues
 

The Science and Technology Minister, Shri Kapil Sibal today called upon the student community to get connected with nature and think about science more seriously. Inaugurating a workshop on "Meteorological and Environmental Education for Youth in Schools" in New Delhi, he pointed out that science is fundamental to life and, therefore, it is better to work with nature than against it. Several students and faculty members of schools in Delhi participated in the workshop organized by the Department of Science and Technology. Lauding the efforts of the organizers in creating awareness regarding weather science amongst the students Shri Sibal called for greater partnership of the civil society in generating the wealth of information to tackle situations like natural calamities.

The Minister also launched the website of NCR-PROBE and released a Brochure of Measurement Protocol. Shri B. Lal, Acting Director General, India Meteorological Department, Dr. S.K. Dash, Professor, Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, IIT, Delhi and Dr. Malti Goel, Adviser & Scientist, Department of Science and Technology were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.
