Organic Light Emitting Diode

RAJYA SABHA

As per the available information, M/s Lomax Ltd. in North Wales, United Kingdom is working on the development of commercial organic light emitting diode (OLED) for large area display panels to save electricity and reduce carbon emission.

No Information is available with the Ministry of Science and Technology that when this technology would be available in the market.

The Government through Department of Science and Technology has already taken steps by funding national laboratories and academic institutions to undertake research on the development of new materials of OLEDs.

This was stated by Shri Prithviraj Chavan, the Union Minister of State (I/C) Science and Technology in the Rajya Sabha today.
