| Childrens Science Congress inaugurated
| Former President of India Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam has said
that students should try to get inspiration from the life and works of grate scientists
. He was inaugurating the childrens science congress organised as part of
97th Inidan Science Congress in Thiruvananthapuram today. Each students should
ask the question what I will be remembered for. The answer to this question can
be found by studying the works and the life of great scientists. According
to Dr.Kalam, students should have ambition & Dream in life. Great Scientists
have made Impossible things possible. Dr.Kalam said that scientists should not
confine to laboratories . They should search for truth in nature. Students should
remember that science is a life time mission. The year 2010 should have a green
mission. Massive planting of trees should be undertaken to make the planet habitable
. A Billion Trees should be planted for a Billion people. Around three thousand
five hundred students participated in the childrens science congress. In
another session in the 97th Inidan Science Congress Prof. U. R. Rao former Chairman
of ISRO delivered a talk on challenges in Space. He put forwarded nine great challenges
in Space Science which are Food Security, Energy, Environment Security, Resource
Security , Space Transportation , Search extra terrestial life, exploration of
Universe and colonization of Mars. Nobel Prize winning Astro physicist
John.C. Mather also spoke on the topic From the big bang to life & end of
the Universe. The science communicators meet was inaugurated by Dr. G.
Madavan Nair, General President of Indian Science Congress association.
