S&T Collaborations with other Countries must add Value to India: Kapil Sibal

Union Minister for Science and Technology Shri Kapil Sibal has said that collaborations with other countries in the field of science and technology should add value to India. Addressing a press conference to announce the 12th Technology Summit and Technology Platform in New Delhi he said we do not want collaborations or investments that take value away from the country. Pointing out that India's global collaborations in the field of science and technology have moved faster than any other programmes, Shri Sibal called for a greater partnership with the industry to take the benefits of technology to the masses.

Stressing on the value of collaboration with ASEAN countries, Shri Sibal said the partnership will provide a 3.2 billion market which would also help science and technology flourish.

The ministry will also sign a memorandum of understanding -- Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) -- with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for a greater synergy between research institutes and the industr
