Kapil Sibal Conferred Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) Degree by Punjab University, Chandigarh

The prestigious Punjab University, founded 125 years ago in Lahore, with its long tradition of fostering and recognizing excellence, today conferred the Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) degree on Union Minister of Science & Technology, Shri Kapil Sibal.

Shri Sibal, a multidimensional personality, is known for his excellent legal acumen and sharp wit. He has been the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association for three terms and Additional Solicitor General of India for a year. Shri Sibal is an ardent supporter and advocate of the human rights especially of the weaker and disadvantaged sections of people. In his present position, he has mounted several initiatives to accord Indian Science & Technology its rightful place in the Indian psyche and policy-making fora.
