Will the Minister of SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) the
details of programmes and schemes undertaken by the West Bengal State Council
of Science and Technology in promotion, planning and coordination of S&T activities
with the help of his Ministry in the last three years, year-wise; and (b)
the details of assistance provided to West Bengal State Council of Science and
Technology by his Ministry to carry out above programmes during the last three
years, year-wise and scheme/programme-wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE

(PRITHVIRAJ CHAVAN) (a) & (b) The Ministry of Science and
Technology provides core support to West Bengal State Council of Science and Technology
to facilitate in promotion, planning and coordination of Science and Technology
activities and also for implementation of various programmes, viz. Natural Resources
Data Management Systems (NRDMS), Biotechnology, Patents, Biofuels, Water Quality
Assessment, Solar lighting, etc. A statement detailing programmes/schemes and
assistance provided to West Bengal State Council of Science and Technology during
the last three years (2006-09) by Ministry of Science and Technology is attached.
