ASSISTANCE IN RESEARCH PROGRAMME 440. SHRI HANSRAJ G. AHIR: Will
the Minister of SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) whether
the Government has received foreign assistance through international agreements
for carrying out research programmes/projects in the country; (b) if so, the
details of the foreign assistance received during each of the last three years
and the current year; (c) the details of the direct and indirect conditions
imposed on recipient institutions/bodies by the donors; and (d) the areas of
research for which the said foreign assistance has been utilised? ANSWER MINISTER
OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AND MINISTER OF EARTH SCIENCES (KAPIL SIBAL) (a)
The Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government
of India have not received directly any foreign assistance through International
Agreements in S&T signed by them for carrying out research programmes/projects
in the country in last 3 years and the current year. (b) to (d): Does not
arise.
