LABORATORIES OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNDER THE MINISTRY

3551. SHRI JASUBHAI DHANABHAI BARAD:

Will the Minister of SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of laboratories functioning under the Ministry throughout the country, State-wise;
(b) the success rate achieved in conducting experiments in these laboratories during each of the last three years and the current year; and
(c) the total amount spent on these laboratories by the Union Government during the said period?

MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AND MINISTER OF EARTH SCIENCES
(KAPIL SIBAL)

(a) A total of 60 research laboratories are functioning under the Ministry of Science and Technology - 14 under Department of Science and Technology (DST), 9 under Department of Bio-Technology (DBT) and 37 under Council of Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR). State-wise detail is given in Annex.
(b) Generally, all the research projects undertaken by various institutes have been found to be as per the project objectives.
(c) The year-wise details of the grants released by the Government to these research laboratories during the last three years and current year is given below:
